Since the beginning of the refugee crisis a large number of unaccompanied minors arrived to Greece, and there are currently 2000 children in the country. They use the same routes as everyone, but their journey is much more dangerous. What comes next can be much worse. Some of them end up as victims of human trafficking; others end up homeless; and others end up in jail. According to Greek law, if an unaccompanied minor arrives to Greece and has no shelter, they are held in detention for their own protection.
