The war in Libya has multiplied the suffering of irregular migrants since they crossed its borders helped by brokers and human trafficking gangs. As the bloody events there escalated, some were forced to participate in the battle that broke out south of the capital Tripoli on April 4, 2019.This coincided also with the release of hundreds from the detention centres, increasing their vulnerability and exploitation risks.
